So for two days last week, we got a little bit of a heat wave in New Jersey and I was able to wear this outfit for a day. I mean it was even too hot to wear the short sleeve sweater on top. Yeah! Wearing a tank top in November…. I was shocked. Where is the cool air? The sweater weather that I’ve been waiting all year for? The changing of the leaves?

I wore this velvet floral print skirt with a black background that day. With this skirt, I was able to mix two of my favorite things this fall: florals and velvet. I’m in love with velvet, especially if it has a print on it. You barely could get a print on velvet in the 1990’s. It was too hard and costly. I’m so glad that changed.

I paired it with a blush tank top, a color I’m obsessed with this season, and a short-sleeved distressed cardigan. I wore some nude ballet flats and a little tan handbag. Mixing black and brown a fashion “taboo”. Which you can break any of the fashion “rules” if you please. As long as you have the confidence to pull it off.

I noticed that I don’t show my outfits paired with a handbag that often. That’s for two reasons. One, I change my bag only once per season because I hate having to always dump out the contents of my bag all the time. Two, is I want to to have creativity with parts of your outfit. I never want my viewers to think they have to get the exact same thing I wore or have. I’m trying to give you ideas and advice on what you can do if you like something. Showing you what you can do with something that you never thought would work or pair well with anything. I want to give you the choice to use any purse you want with your outfit. But I will try to use a handbag once-in-a-while with my outfits just to give you ideas.

Let me know what you would love to see!!
